After almost 11 years as a pair, 5 Bandung trips, 6 Bali trips, and 1 Singapore trip together, Island of Gods is still our all time favorite. Given the fact that both of us are very familiar with this destination (my parents annually took me for Java-Bali road trips back when I was a kid), it was never boring. Plus, this last one was actually kinda different than our usual holiday.
But first, here's a pic of Biku's pavlova that we ate on our arrival day. It was so good! Now I wonder why I never have this before at Biku -- I love this place! The cakes, the teas, the pavlova.
In fact, Sam is a very calm baby, in my humble opinion. No stroller, no nanny, no crazy luggage, not fussy at all.
And they snapped great pics of our days in Bali, too, such a cool family. I squeeze some of mine as well in between, though.
So my sister who lives in Bali took us to some good places. Biku, Eatwell, mandatory seafood party at Jimbaran beach, Chicken Run, Gusto Gelato, Chiringuito at Double Six beach, a series of Balinese food and authentic sambal mattah, you name it. Good itinerary in my opinion, as back 7 months ago on our honeymoon, we spent most of our time at our honeymoon suites with in-room dining.
But even high-tide was there for a reason! The last time we visited Pandawa, the water was so clear you can even see the bottom of the sea - but a week ago due to the dangerous high-tide on other beaches, Pandawa showed-off the prettiest ombre blue I've ever seen in person! #nofilter
Obviously, Vina is another college best friend, somebody who's talking to me often in daily basis through chat messenger about weddings, family, and other random things. It was actually classic, like two plus two equals four, Nita and I met Vina and our other best friend, Stella, and sat on the same class for our first year, somehow shares the same values and lifestyle (back in our college day, we defined lifestyle as hang-out at malls nearby the campus, chasing public transportation, and work our ass off just for good grades).
From left to right: Vina, me, Nita, little Sam, and Stella. How time flies, once we were 4 teenagers, struggling at the heart of Jakarta but now we are a brand new wife embracing the beginning of her beautiful marriage, a happily married woman living in a big bubble full of all her humble wishes, a blessed mom of a pretty baby girl, and an adventurous young lady making all of her wildest dreams come true.
That pretty much sums up our pleasant weekend. If you want to know how's the happy holiday according to Nita, check out her thoughts about the trip and the food we had!
Next getaway: our first wedding anniversary.
